From Student to Healer
Miraclide began her journey at Grace Academy, pursued nursing school through Healing Haiti’s sponsorship, and recently passed her national exam with top marks. After serving as a beloved intern at the clinic, she now steps into her role as a full-time nurse—a remarkable full-circle moment of education, opportunity, and faith in action. Jimmy Élysée: From a Dream to Reality
“I’ll never forget the day my parents were told I could attend Grace Academy without paying tuition. As one of seven children, there was no way my family could afford to send us all to school. That opportunity changed everything.
I worked hard—studying all night while caring for my dad after his surgery. Through faith and Healing Haiti’s support, I became the first in my family to graduate high school and attend university. Now, I’m pursuing my dream of becoming a doctor so I can give back to my community, just as Healing Haiti gave to me.”
Transformative power of education at Grace Academy
Jovany, Wilanda, and Ronaldo are shining examples of the transformative power of education at Grace Academy. Jovany, who began her journey in Grace Village, has just graduated from Grace Academy. Wilanda, another recent Grace Academy graduate, has been a part of our community in Titanyen, and Ronaldo, who grew up in Grace Village and graduated from Grace Academy some years ago, is now pursuing his dream of becoming a dentist.
Recently, Ronaldo took Jovany and Wilanda under his wing, showing them around the clinic where he’s gaining practical experience in his dental studies. Their shared journey from students to future leaders highlights the incredible potential that education unlocks for the youth of Haiti.
